The independent nature of New Hampshire voters makes it a battleground state in most election cycles, although it has voted Democratic in all but one election since 1992. In 2020, Joe Biden won by about 7% over Donald Trump. New Hampshire has maintained its allocation of four electoral votes since 1884.
