An imaginary picture of Ram and Sita, the two Hindu mythological figures.
Hindu nationalists, liberal intellectuals, and Christian evangelists relying on unconfirmed reports found in a book of ahadith had tried to convince their followers that Prophet Muhammad married Ayesha when she was six. Many Muslim scholars have also concurred with such reports and promoted the falsehood about marriage. Some said that God commanded the match as Angel Gabriel showed the picture of Ayesha to the Prophet to convince him of such a union. The Quranic text does not support such an assertion. The Prophet never referred to Ayesha's age. A detailed article on this issue is available on this site. https://www.draslamabdullah.com/post/the-age-of-ayesha-at-the-time-of-her-marriage
Interestingly, among those who call Prophet Muhammad a pedophile are Hindu nationalists craving to establish Ram Rajya in India, ignoring that Valmiki's Ramayana refers to the age of Rama and his wife Sita at the time of their marriage, 15 and six, respectively.
Valmiki states that When the evil Ravana came to kidnap Sita, he initially tried to woo her by talking about his wealth and richness. Sita talked about her heritage and the greatness of her lineage. Ravana gets furious and forcefully abducts her.
During the argument, Sita told him about her age in below Sloka,
In AranyaKanda, Chapter/Sarge 47, Sloka # 10
मम भर्ता महातेजा वयसा पंच विंशकः || ३-४७-१०
अष्टा दश हि वर्षाणि मम जन्मनि गण्यते |
Sita said — "Mama Bhartha Mahateja Vayasa Pancha Vimshaka," meaning my great warrior husband is 25 years of age,
“Ashta Dasha varshani mama Janmanti ganyati” — I was 18 years then.
And they came to the forest when she was 18 and Rama was 25.
It means that Sita was seven years younger than Ram.
Also, in Sundarakanda, in conversation with Swamy Hanuma, Sita said she enjoyed all kinds of luxuries after marriage for 12 years.
Sundarakanda, Chapter/Sarga 33, Sloka # 17
समा द्वादश तत्र अहम् राघवस्य निवेशने || ५-३३-१७
भुन्जाना मानुषान् भोगान् सर्व काम समृद्धिनी |
In the above sloka, Dwadasha means 12 years. Sita told Hanuma that she stayed in Ayodhya for 12 years after marriage. From the above two slokas, we can infer that Sita Devi was six years and Ram was 13 years old when they got married. After 12 years, when they were 18 and 25, they had to go to the forest. After 14 years in the forest, they came back to Ayodhya.
Ram was almost 40 years, and Sita was 33 years.
